Jack is a sweet love.
Jack O'Lantern (Punkin')
Yesterday Chuck and I went on a really nice walk in Liberty Park, after we finished the Federal job applications, which took two of us, two entire days to complete. The park was beautiful! While we were there, we saw a young boy, about Chandler's age holding a kitten at arm's length, kind of mean like. I said, "What are you doing with that kitten?" He said, "You want it? I can't keep it." Chuck knew immediately that we would adopt him. Here he is a black Halloween kitten, named Jack O' Lantern (Jack) and while he's a baby I'll call him Punkin'. He is the best purr monster, kneads bread like crazy, and has such big paws, he will probably be a very big boy.

The back yard is coming along!
Chuck and I moved into our house in July 2007. The yard was just grass, since then we had a deck built, but before that we moved 10 yards of soil, and 10 yards of crushed rock into the backyard. We removed an old driveway, and an old broken paver patio, and saved all the stuff. This is October 2008, the broken pavers were used to edge and make little paths, the main patio is crused rock, and will eventually be shaded by the Catalpa trees (6 of them planted in rows to cover the patio). The rock wall is made of chunks of cement that would have been in hauled to the dump. The tent is our garage overflow!

Say Hello to Ivan (aka Mikey)
This is Ivan (aka Mikey). I adopted him because I adopted his sister, and I felt bad leaving him there. As it turns out, he is the world's best kitty. He acts like a dog, comes when you call, responds when you scold him, and begs for absolutely everything, even raw onions, which is how he got the nickname Mikey, (like the Life cereal ad "Give it to Mikey, he'll eat anything!"). This is him taking a snooze on the front porch, silly kitty!

Bird Refuge, Amazing!
I have always wanted to go see the swans migrating, at the Bear River Bird Refuge, but it is near Brigham City and about an hour from home. Yeasterday, I convinced Chuck to go with me, we packed wine, treats and the camera. The picture above should probably be in National Geographic! That is how many birds we saw, one.

Simon the Fat Wonder
This is Simon, he is sweet, calm, and devoted. he does not make trouble, just sleeps on the end of my bed, and protects me, from what, I do not know since he has no claws front or back! He is a Maine Coon cat and is really big! He is a scaredy cat, his mom and litter mates were killed, so he learned as a baby, if there is a scary sound, run and hide! Jessica adopted him from our vet.
Hazel needs Kitty Prozac
Hazel is one of my three cats, The other two Ivan (aka Mikey), and Simon, are males and get along with everybody, people, the local squirrel, dogs, everybody! But Hazel.... she is seriously whacked. She is scared to death that Ivan will "get" her, so she spends the day on the garage roof, or hiding. But she was an adorable kitten, and this picture is of her June 2006, sleeping in the napkin basket.
